The Ghana League Clubs Association has passed a proposal to have members of the judicial bodies of the Ghana FA appointed by Congress.

This proposal which was part of the report of the Special Committee set up by GHALCA to propose reforms for Ghana football received enormous endorsement by the General Assembly in a meeting on Tuesday.

The provision will be forwarded to the Normalization Committee for the consideration before possibly being tabled to the GFA Congress for approval.

If approved, the appointment of the chairman and members of the judicial organs of the GFA – the Disciplinary, Appeals and Ethics Committees – will no longer be the preserve of the Executive Committee.

The proposal however further proposed that this appointment to be made by Congress is made through election.

The Executive Committee will however make recommendations on the persons to be considered for election onto these committees.

This proposal is meant to give the various judicial organs independence from the Executive Committee.

There have been allegations of manipulation of the work of the judicial organs by members of the GFA Executive in recent times.

This proposal is thus geared to cure this perception.
