Yacouba will arrive in Ghana today
Songne Yacouba has been the subject of a big controversy after overstaying a ten-day leave granted him by Asante Kotoko to go and organize his marriage ceremony in his native Burkina Faso.
But contrary to media reports that the Burkinabe refused to return to the club demanding a salary increment after notching up 10 goals in all competitions including friendlies, FootballmadeinGhana.com can authoritatively state that at no point did the player made such financial demand to the club.
In his official leave letter for marriage submitted to Asante Kotoko, the player was expected to be back in the country on time to join his teammates for the Takoradi training tour but the talented forward unfortunately fell sick upon arrival and was admitted at the hospital meaning the marriage ceremony could not take place.
This website can also confirm the player is never owed any amount and whatsoever by Asante Kotoko and is one of the most disciplined players at the club as he is hardly in the news for the wrong reasons apart from scoring goals.
Meanwhile, Yacouba will arrive in Ghana on Friday morning according to a report by Kumasi-based Silver FM as confirmed by FootballmadeinGhana.com.
The lethal attacker left Ouagadougou on Friday morning at 8.30 AM and is set to arrive in Ghana today.
Kotoko will host the winner of the Cameroonian cup match between Edding FC and Lion Blesse in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup on November 28 and Yacouba remains an important player C.K Akonnor and his team will rely on in Africa this season.
The Ghanaian giants are Ghana’s sole representative in Africa Inter-Club competitions.
