GSB clears Star and Alcobre electrical cables

Accra, Nov. 24, GNA - The Ghana Standard Board (GSB) on Wednesday cleared Star and Alcobre electrical cables saying the cables manufactured locally by Reroy Enterprise Limited had been certified by the Board.

A statement issued by the Management of the GSB said it wished to correct an error in a previous publication, which included the two brands in the list of fake brands.

It said it had been realised that some repackaging of that product was being done on the market. For example, 1.5 square millimetre cables were displayed in 2.5 square millimetre boxes.

"This confuses the identity of cables from this factory, hence the inclusion of the two brands in the list published earlier." GSB cautioned the public to be vigilant when buying cables.
