The eight ex-commandos invested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning as part of investigations into alleged plots to destabilize the country are yet to report to the police.
A reliable source at the CID Directorate told the paper last Friday that it was nearly one week since police demanded that the suspects should report, but they were yet to give themselves up at any police station.
The suspects are Francis Soga, Peter Odorkor JJ, Renato and Rockson Tetteh, ex-soldier and Dela Anyigba, ex-militia. The rest are ex-Cpl. Victor Ofori, ex-Sgt. Stephen and Bamfo Koranteng all ex-commandos.
In recent weeks, the police have stepped up efforts to expose plans by unknown persons to derail the parliamentary and presidential elections. Acting on a tip off, a combined team from Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) and the CID rounded up suspects some few weeks earlier.
One of the suspects, Nicholas Owuoba, an ex-serviceman of the 64 Battalion is still doing time on remand for possessing illegal firearms
