An activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken a swipe at social media critics who have sought to label flagbearer aspirant, Goosie Tanoh and are scheming for his disqualification from the Presidential primaries.

Some members of the NDC who are bent on not seeing Goosie Tanoh on the ballot with posts calling Mr. Tanoh a traitor and linking him to the interim injunction that has been placed on the Presidential primaries.

Two members of the National Democratic Congress Abdallah Issah and James Kabu Nartey-Oman yesterday December 18, 2019 secured an interlocutory injunction valid for 10 days restraining the Functional Executives from taking any further steps towards organizing elections to elect a Flagbearer to lead the party into the 2020 elections.

The move will delay the activities outlined in the election calendar of the party but it is unclear whether it will lead to the postponement of the elections.

Even though Goosie Tanoh has filed to contest in the primaries and paid his filing fees in full, some party members were quick to link him to the suit and court displeasure for his campaign.

In what appears to be a written response released on social media and copied radiogold905.com, Dela Coffie however refutes the claims stating Mr. Tanoh has “no interest in any court case.”

The write-up also dismissed claims that Mr. Tanoh has not been an active member of the party for 10 years after famously leaving the party to form the National Reform Party (NRP) to contest the 2000 elections.

According to Dela Coffie Mr. Tanoh has been an active member of the party since late Prof. JEA Mills prevailed on him to return to the NDC in 2004 to help implement reforms that are aimed at making the party’s grassroots an active part of decision making, an initiative he has been pushing for since day one.

The write-up further indicated that Goosie Tanoh has been an active member of Anevon Court A Branch, of Krowor Constituency since 2007 and has “hosted branch meetings and supported countless branch activities financially and organizationally.”

To further back the claim of Mr. Tanoh meeting the 10 year active membership guideline, write-up also pointed to the roles he played in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 general elections.

“Mr. Tanoh served on the 2008 and 2012 NDC national campaign planning committees. Goosie coordinated operations in hostile Constituencies for the Mills campaign – 2008. Provided financial, organizational, and logistical support for the 2008, 2012 and 2016 presidential and parliamentary campaigns,”

In addition to the role played in the three elections, Dela Coffie also added that the candidate was a “member of a Think Tank convened by the late PV Obeng and the late Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that met regularly at NDPC to support campaign work in 2012.”

“The real traitors of the NDC are the people who have fed and grown fat on the party. Get to know them. Goosie is not one of them,” he stated.
