I’m sorry, I lied – Head of Ayawaso task force apologises to Ibrahim Mahama over land claims

The Head of task force for Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly and Assemblyman for the Roman Ridge electoral area, Mr. Samuel Dua has rendered an unqualified apology to businessman Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for wrongfully accusing him of building on a parcel of land belonging to the state.

Mr. Samuel Dua, made the accusation two weeks ago on UTV.

But in a new twist, he has remorsefully rendered an unconditional apology to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama on the same platform on which he made the accusations. According to him, the allegations are ‘baseless’ and he is sorry.

“Two weeks ago I spoke to UTV about a parcel of land at Red light, East Legon belonging to the state. I accused Mr. Ibrahim Mahama of allocating to himself the said land and went ahead to put up a building on the said land. But later I realized the said building does not belong to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. First of all, let me use this opportunity to render an unqualified apology to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. I am pleading with him to forgive me for saying the building belongs to him. He should please forgive me” Mr. Dua pleaded.

The Chief Executive Officer of Engineers & Planners Ghana Limited, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has been in the news earlier in the year for an award which was conferred on him as African industrialist of the Year at the 2018 African Achievers Award. The special ceremony took place at the Houses of Parliament, Palace of Westminster, London. Mr. Ibrahim Mahama was awarded and specially recognized for his contribution to the growth and development of the private sector businesses in Africa.

The African Achievers Awards has consistently honoured great African Achievers from African Leaders, Young Achievers, Community Builders to Captains of Industries across the continent. The Awards ceremony has fast become established as one of the biggest gatherings of influential and global African Achievers on the continent.
