Head coach C.K Akonnor says Asante Kotoko fans have been handed a Christmas gift following his side’s 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday.
The game was the second-leg clash of the CAF Confederation Cup First round tie between the two sides and goals from striker Fatawu Abdul Safiu and skipper Amos Frimpong were enough to see the Porcupine Warriors through to the play-off round.
“It was not an easy game but we managed to win it.” C.K Akonnkr said after the game.
“Our fans can now celebrate the Christmas well. Imagine if all these fans had gone to their homes with a defeat. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if that happens.” the former Hearts of Oak coach added.
“I’m happy we are through. I have read several stuff before the game which were not good for us but we are through now” he explained.
