Accra, Dec. 9, GNA - Mr Dan Botwe, General Secretary, New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to concede defeat in the face of certified results released so far. In an interview at the premises of the Electoral Commission in Accra, he said President John Agyekum Kufuor had gone past the 50 per cent plus one vote. He said spoilt ballot papers amounted to I.8 per cent of the total vote cast and wondered why the NDC were calling for their counting. "In the last election, 2.3 per cent of the vote cast were invalid and no one raised an objection, why now? "We have won the election. President Kufuor has won we are only waiting for the baptism of the Electoral Commission," he said.
