A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress national communication team Felix Nene Kpabitey has accused the Akufo-Addo administration for the recent spate of supposed contract killings and kidnappings in the country.

Speaking on Ete Sen on Radio XYZ 93.1 Thursday morning, Mr Kpabutey noted the said killings which he numbered as five within the last 30 days was worrying and a “headache” to Ghanaians.

In January this year, four persons have been found murdered at separate locations in the country.

Josephine Asante, a Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority was found murdered in her home near Tema recently. Apart from a taxi driver who was found murdered at Mampong in the Ashanti region with his genitals removed, investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale was last week shot dead by unknown assailants.

According to Nene, the murder is because the president has failed to “whip” the police to act, stressing that the government is not equipping the police and other security agencies to fight the escalating crime cases in the country.

“Today, people are not safe under Akufo-Addo. The killings are too much and the government does not want to act,” he told Kwame Minkah on the programme as he bemoaned the kidnappings that have left three families devastated in the Western Regional capital, Takoradi.
