The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) must deal with the flaws in the party’s voter roll, which will be used for the flag bearer primary, Nii Amassah Namoale of aspirant Joshua Alabi’s camp has said.
According to the former lawmaker, the absence of voter IDs, registration and contact numbers on the register is disturbing and should, therefore, be addressed immediately.
The former Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture wrote on his Facebook page: “Truth be told. You have not seen the register yet you are defending what is in it. Will you accept a register that has positions but no names, no voter identity numbers, no NDC registration numbers, no contact numbers?"
“These are some of the flaws some high-ranking members in the party are defending. If we were lazy in 2016 and we could not compile the results of elections, then (NPP told us 1 million vote difference), must we try again to be lazy by not putting together a credible election register?"
“We know we are winning to lead the NDC and such laziness will not be entertained by Prof Joshua Alabi. Let us act as a serious and credible political party.”
He added: “Let us be serious. Solve the problem and stop the propaganda.”
