Koforidua, Dec. 25, GNA - The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Francis B. Quashie has called on Christians to be faithful to God, their country and themselves to help build trust and confidence in the country as they celebrate this year's Christmas.
He explained that, such developments would promote peace in the country and relief the country's security personnel of some of the pressures of the times.
This was contained in a Christmas message of Bishop Quashie, which was issued to media houses in Koforidua on Christmas eve. He thanked God for seeing the country through free and fair elections, which had been acclaimed the world over and thanked politicians who offered themselves for elective offices. Bishop Quashie congratulated those politicians who were elected to parliament and commended those who lost the elections and had graciously accepted defeat.
He called on those who would be holding political office in the next government to be guided by the message of the Angel that announced the birth of Christ in the Bible, saying, "Peace on Earth" and work towards the consolidation of the peace that the country is currently enjoying.
Bishop Quashie called on President J. A. Kufuor and members of his next cabinet to work towards bringing the four poorest regions in the country to be at par with the rest of the country.
