Unilever Ghana Limited, a leading producer of consumer goods in Ghana, has rewarded three of its consumers in its Key Soap Promo Baako Pe for 2018.

The three winners from three regions, all women, were presented with their 2-way ticket to Mauritius for an all-expenses-paid trip at an event held at the Rawlings Park in Accra on Friday, February 15, 2019.

They winners are Aminatu A. Amidu, Hajia Hanutu Alhassan and Queenstar Patience Yaa Kamassah.

Consumers of key soap and other Unilever products who attended the award ceremony also received some goodies from Unilever Ghana including exercise books, pens and customized face towels.

There was also a dancing competition that saw participants walk away with prices.

The event was attended by executive staff of Unilever Ghana Limited and representatives from the Ga Traditional Council among others.

One of the winners, Queenstar Patience Yaa Kamassah, said she has been a loyal user of products from Unilever Ghana Limited for many years, and was excited to have won the 2-way trip after years of using their products.

Queenstar Patience Yaa Kamassah also mentioned that she inherited her addiction to Unilever products from her mother who sold Unilever products for years.

An excited Hajia Hanutu Alhassan also expressed joy at the opportunity to cool off from the pressures of life.

Aminatu A. Amidu was perhaps the most excited in the way she jumped and danced around in ecstasy when she was handed with her dummy ticket.

Mrs. Ewuraba Ekua Adusei, Brand Manager for Key Soap, explaining the rationale behind the promo said the Key Soap long bar which has been on the market for over 50 years has remained true to its value and purpose of promoting traditions for generations.

“It remains the dominant market leader in the laundry bar market in Ghana (Ac Nielsen Retail audit report 2018) with Key Brilliant significantly holding its place in the wrapped bar segment. Our brand promise of being ‘Amansan Boafo’ is as relevant today as it was years back. From the days of Key soap concert party in the ‘90s and more recently spearheading Wogbejeke heritage theatre series to tell our Ghanaian independence stories, we have delivered on our brand promise by enhancing the lives of our consumers. We are pioneers of preserving traditions, ensuring that the Ghanaian consumer is given true value for money every day. It is therefore heart-warming to see Key soap today in most homes across regions and socio-economic classes.”

“The brand Key recognizes hardworking mothers whose ultimate concern is the wellbeing of their families. It is the mother’s helper by offering solution for all her laundry needs ranging from bedsheets to school uniforms. Due to its carefully formulated blend of oils, it is the obvious choice for those who wish to preserve their most cherished clothes; from our batakari to our Kente, Key soap is just the right soap to care for these fabrics. For a brand which has transcended many generations it is imperative to recognize its loyal consumers and trade partners who have supported the brand over the years via relevant promotions that excite and meet contemporary expectations”.

According to her, several consumers had received various rewards for entering the promotion from August 2018 to December prior to the climax.

“The 2018 Key Promo Baako Pe was one of the many promotions targeted at rewarding both retailers and consumers of Key Soap and Key Brilliant. Prizes included airtime which was rewarded instantly electronically under the control of the Mpedigree platform, pressing irons, GTP cloth, cash rewards, T-shirts and gold pendants. For those who won gold pendants, they had the opportunity to travel to Mauritius with the collection of 5 extra tokens. And this was the exciting treasure hunt shoppers and retailers embarked on during the promotion.”

All that a consumer needed to do was to buy Key soap bar, cut the bar to obtain the plastic token which had a unique code to text free of charge on any network. For Key Brilliant, the consumer had to scratch the panel to reveal the code to text.

All promotional stocks were 100% wins with no chance winnings.

“With over 300,000 prizes allocated in the Key promo Baako Pe 2018, we are excited to see loyal consumers delighted upon finding these tokens. Today, as we bring the 2018 promotion to a close we wish to present the ultimate package to winners who remained loyal to the brand and persistent throughout the promo period. These individuals found extra tokens in addition to the 18 carat gold pendants earlier won and are just a week away from embarking on the trip to Mauritius. We are therefore super excited and wish the winners a relaxing holiday from all their hard work of keeping the home and preserving traditions.”

“Indeed, the tradition goes on, hence for all laundry bar users and trade partners, come on board this 2019 as we take you on yet another rewarding and exciting experience” she noted.
