Children?s Right International, an advocacy NGO, has called on the government to actively involve young people without formal education in the country?s development efforts. The Executive director of the NGO, Alfred Kofi Appiah says policy-makers have concentrated too much on young people who have acquired formal, high level education ? neglecting skilled youth in the informal sector. Mr. Appiah said young people without tertiary education are being left out of development planning, suggesting the existence of a class-distinction system. He warned that the continuous neglect of those in the informal sector will not help the country?s development process.
