Programme for Kufuor's inauguration out

Accra, Jan. 1, GNA - The National Planning Committee on Friday released a programme of activities to mark the inauguration of President John Agyekum Kufuor for another four-year term of office after Election 2004.

The programme signed by Mr D. A. Kwapong, Acting Director of the Ministry of Information, said, Muslims prayers were offered in all mosques in country as part of the inauguration.

It Seventh Day Adventists Churches would hold church services on Saturday January 1 2005 to pray for stable, peaceful and prosperous country while on Sunday January 2, 2005 other Christian churches would hold similar church services for the nation.

On January 3, there would be a pre-inauguration musical show and fireworks display featuring a free-show of about 30 hi-life and gospel artistes at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle form 2000 hours till daybreak. President Kufuor would deliver the State of the Nation Address to the Fourth Parliament of the Fourth Republic on Monday, January 4 and then on January 7, the activities would be climaxed at the Independence Square at 0900 hours with the inauguration of President Kufuor for his second four-year term of office.

The programme said there would be an inter-denominational Thanksgiving Service by the Christian Council of Ghana, Ghana Pentecostal Council and National Association of Charismatic Churches on January 16 for a smooth transition at the Independence Square from 1400 hours to 1700 hours.
