Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong has rendered an unqualified apology to their fans following their elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors failed to reach the last eight of the competition after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Zesco United in Zambia in the final group game on Sunday.
Frimpong has jumped to the defense of the team and renders an unqualified apology to the fans.
"I will say , it was a good journey but we didn't get the expected results to help us qualify.
"I will say it was a very disappointing outing we displayed in Zambia" .. Speaking on Kumasi based Light FM, Amos Frimpong added.
"On behalf of the entire playing body, I will extend our profound apology to the fans, it wasn't our motive to give them such poor outing.”
"But in the game of football, there are bad days and you don't always get what you desire so I will plead that the fans forgive us and rally behind us, I'm optimistic of a good show in our subsequent outings.”
