In their bid to expand their marketing in Ghana and unveil new products, the Management of Havells, an Indian Electrical Company at the weekend organised an orientation meeting with their retailers in the country.
They also demonstrated to their retailers and the invited the Guests the quality in their products and how their usage could avert domestic fires that were increasing on daily basis.
Mr Vijay Gokaldas, Executive Director of Services Merchandize Limited (SML), dealers in Havells products said their decision to have an interaction with their dealers was hinged on their relations building that would in subsequent years make Havells products household names in Ghana.
Services Merchandize Limited who deal in Havells products in Ghana had distributed throughout the country range of products including; electrical cables, water heaters, Air conditioners, Pressing Irons, Water Purification Technologies among others.
They also introduced new led bulbs that were brighter and unbreakable, switch boards and other products.
Mr Gokaldas said the dealers had over the years, built confidence in their products and it was only fair to sit with them to discuss issues that could spur them on to sell good products to the Ghanaian consumers.
“We have been with a lot of them since our establishment in 2003, and we believe that it is in good faith to break bread with them and move forward in our relations.”
He said the Havells life line plus cables were heat resistant, flame retardant, anti-termite and anti-rodent and it was therefore expedient to purchase them over others.
The Executive Director said the cables had 101 per cent copper conductivity, certified by Bureau Veritas and were more than 99.95 per cent bare copper conductors.
Mr Stephen Yomoh, Programmes Officer of Energy Commission, said they had come out with certification system for dealers and would promote local manufacturing products that complied with international standards.
He appealed to the dealers to reduce the high spate of fire outbreaks through cables by selling quality products in the Ghanaian market.
Mr Francis Ameyibor, Executive Director of Communication Development and Advocacy Consult cautioned the dealers against counterfeit products as that could be inimical and dangerous to growth and development.
He said his outfit in collaboration with the Ghana Standards Authority, Ghana National Fire Service, Electrical Contractors, Electrical Manufacturers and other stakeholders had embarked on a nationwide crusade against counterfeit electrical products.
He called on the authorities to deal ruthlessly with people dealing in counterfeit products to deter both manufacturers and marketers of the products.
Alhaji Ismael Akuffo-Amoah, Marketing Officer of the SML who demonstrated their new products to the gathering appealed to the public to patronise Havells products as they were of the highest quality.
