Seven people died in Sunday’s rains, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has confirmed.
Four bodies were found at Adjei Kojo in Ashaiman while one was found at Odawna, the Public Relations Officer of NADMO, Mr George Ayisi told Benjamin Akakpo on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Monday, 15 April 2019.
The deceased included a six-year-old who was swept away by the floods and a soldier.
Apart from parts of Accra such as Dodowa, Amasama and Afienya, some of the worst affected areas in the country, according to the Ghana Meteorological Agency, include Kpetoe, Akatsi, Ho, Kpandu and their environs in the Volta Region.
In the Eastern Region, Koforidua, Begoro and Nkawkaw were badly hit.
Similar heavy rains killed five people last week.
