Even though the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo during a town hall meeting in USA weeks ago disclosed that infamous Galamsey Queen, Aisha Huang has been deported to China, an executive of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) alleges she is still in Ghana.
The Ashanti Regional Communication Director of NDC Zongo Caucus, Maigida Damaili who made the shocking revelation on Thursday, said she has not been deported as claimed by the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo.
Mr. Osafo Maafo weeks ago sought to justify the decision by an Accra High Court to free embattled Chinese galamsey queen Aisha Huang who was deported back to China, her home country in December last year.
He was reported to have said in a video that went viral that jailing Aisha Huang, nicknamed ‘Galamsey Queen’ would not have solved Ghana’s economic challenges.
But Maigida Damaili in an interview with MyNewsGh.com described the Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo as liar insisting the Chinese woman is right here in Ghana lodging at TUC, a suburb of the Kumasi Metropolis.
“I was so disappointed in the statement made by the Senior Minister concerning Aisha Huang’s issue. Ghanaian galamseyers have been jailed but the Senior Minister is saying it is unnecessary to jail Aisha Huang. The Senior Minister should stop lying to Ghanaians. Aisha Huang has not been deported. She is still in Ghana and she stays at TUC” he alleged.
