Asante Kotoko
Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 stalemate at home by Bechem United in their midweek matchday 10 fixture of the GFA Normailsation Committee Special Competition.
The Porcupine Warriors were hoping to clinch all three points in the game after drawing goalless with Berekum Chelsea under a controversial circumstances at the Golden City Park last Sunday but were again denied victory by Bechem United.
Prince Adu Kwabena sent shivers to the home fans after scoring just three minutes into the game but the visitors failed to hold on to their lead as inform striker Abdul Fataw Safiu drew Asante Kotoko level seven minutes later.
The hosts after pulling parity, could have put more goals in the net of Bechem United but their profligacy upfront meant that they weren’t ready for victory as the Bechem based club left the Baba Yara Stadium with a point to the dismay of Asante Kotoko supporters.
Guinean striker Naby Keita could have easily doubled the score for his side after his feeble shot was saved by goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu on the 28th minute.
CK Akonnor’s side were again denied a goal, after goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu brilliantly saved Jordan Opoku’s strike.
Kotoko kept pushing for a winning goal but the defencemen of Bechem United remained very resolute as the game ended one apiece.
