The Paramount Chief of Ekumfi Traditional Area, Odeefo Akyin XII has blamed judges in the country for the prolonged chieftaincy cases riddled with several adjournments pending before various courts wondering when they will ever get settled.

He has therefore appealed to the National House of Chiefs through its Vice President, Dasebre Kweebu Ewusie VII to as matter of urgency struck out all chieftaincy disputes pending before courts since these disputes need historical antecedents to be settled and not the judiciary.

Odeefo Akyin who has settled 34 long-standing chieftaincy disputes out of 37 said judges who claim I put it to you don’t put in anything but rather worsen the cases.

He said there is the need to ignore judicial ruling on chieftaincy disputes and allow traditional authorities to settle the matters for peace and tranquility to prevail.

According to him, chieftaincy disputes in the Central Region are overwhelming, underscoring the need for the traditional authorities to rise up to condemn such attitude.
