XYZ News reporter Wisdom Hededzome is in critical condition after he was physically assaulted on Tuesday morning by some city guards operating within the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipality.
The journalist said he was manhandled by about 10 of the guards who were on duty around the Zongo junction at Madina.
According to him, the taskforce who were on a decongestion exercise had beaten hawkers at Zongo junction with one of them sustaining a head injury. In his quest to seek answers to what was happening he was pounced upon by the close the men who assaulted him with a baton.
One of them said “we work for the government and we shall crush anyone who comes our way” Wisdom disclosed.
His phone has since been seized by the men who claim he may have filmed their evil act. Wisdom is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed health facility and has lodged an official police complaint.
But the La Nkwantanan-Madina Municipal Assembly is yet to officially speak to the issue.
