The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has cautioned the public to be wary of social media fraudsters using his name to swindle people to whom they promise jobs in exchange for money.
According to the lawmaker, he continues to receive reports from all over the country of how people have fallen victim to fraudsters posing as him on Facebook.
In a Facebook post, Mr Ablakwa said: “I do not offer ‘protocol’ jobs neither do I ever demand money to assist anyone, no matter the circumstances.”
“I am only and strictly a Member of Parliament; NOT a Visa Contractor; NOT a ‘Protocol’ Facilitator; NOT a Recruitment Agent; NOT a Middleman to any institution whatsoever!”.
“Respectfully, may we all endeavour to avoid greed and crookedness by swiftly reporting all such criminals on Facebook to the Security Agencies instead of participating in their evil enterprises,” he added.
