Member of Parliament for Tamale North Constituency, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini is demanding an apology from GhOne Television over what he believes to be unfair treatment meted out to him on the station’s Morning Show, ABC News Ghana can report.

The MP, in a statement cited by ABC News Ghana, says he was unfairly treated by the producer and hostess of the news analysis segment of GHOne TV’s morning show.

According to him, he was forced to apologise for an otherwise ‘factual’ statement he made on the show concerning the Deputy Minister for Communications, George Andah. The statement suggested that the minister was aware of a shooting incident which involved a close associate of his.

“By an apology in my name I didn’t consent to, I was unfairly made to appear guilty, despite the very arrogant and disrespectful conduct of storming off the set by a colleague panellist and Deputy Minister of Communication, Hon. George Andah. Any fair review of the recorded show will confirm the over the top reaction to my rather innocuous reference to a text message that accused the Deputy Minister of nothing beyond the fact that he knew of a shooting incident in which someone personally known to him was involved.”

The Tamale North Constituency MP further stated that “Unlike the Deputy Minister and colleague Member of Parliament, I didn’t protest in the same abrasive, arrogant and disrespectful manner on set at the time the apology was rendered because of my respect for the cherished viewers and management of the esteemed station and my desire to preserve the sanctity of the programme at the time.”
