Some members of the group were heard describing current Director, Hajia Salamatu as incompetent
A youth group in Tamale in the Northern region has shut down the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium after chasing out the embattled Sports Authority Director.
The youth group, allegedly members of the New Patriotic Party stormed the stadium on Monday and asked the Director, Hajia Alimah Salamatu, to vacate the premises.
In a video obtained by Starrfm.com.gh, one of the members stated that Hajia Salamatu is not fit to head the sports directorate in the region.
They allege among other things, that the Director General of Sports Authority has rescinded his decision to transfer Hajia Salamatu after taking a bribe from her.
According to them, they will prevent Hajia Alimah from getting access to the secretariat until their demands are met.
“Hajia Salamatu is not a quality officer to head the sports directorate and we would not allow her to cause further problems,” one of the group members said.
