The Navrongo Central constituency secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Selanwiah Abdul-Mumin, has referred to President Akufo-Addo as a ‘Renaming General.’

Abdul Mumin claimed that the president cannot boast of a hencoop but has renamed a number of projects since he assumed office.

In statement, he noted that the president intent to rename the University of Development Studies after the late Clement Kubindiwo Tedam (C. K. Tedam), who was the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the NPP, is inappropriate.

According to him, he explained that the late political leader did little to merit such a national honour.

Abdul Mumin went on to say the late politician did very little for the people of Paga where he hailed from.

For that reason, he went on, people can barely remember him for his contributions to national development, hence the irrelevance of the honour.

The decision to rename UDS came to the attention of Ghanaians after C.K Tedam was laid to rest.

YEN.com.gh understands that the proposed name is C. K. Tedam University for Technology and Applied Sciences.

Present at his funeral were top party officials such as President Akufo-Addo and the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
