The Young Entrepreneurs International Award is targeted towards celebrating entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy globally who have been able to achieve success in their various fields amidst the economic condition and also their support for the growth of young entrepreneurs.

This year, the Young Entrepreneur International Summit and Award featured over 150 young entrepreneurs from various fields and 25 Outstanding Young entrepreneurs were presented with Awards in Accra.

The CEO of Codetrain, Richard Brandt, picked up the award for ICT Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In his speech, he challenged the new generation of African entrepreneurs to aim at creating massive wealth and jobs opportunities for the youth.

“I believe that our calling as modern day African entrepreneurs is to build businesses that can potentially create opportunities for millions of African youth. We can achieve this with technology…technology is not limited to only computers … but technology is finding ways to do things in a better way.”

Richard who was recently listed as part of the 2019 top 50 Young CEOs in Ghana, founded Codetrain — a special code school in Ghana that transforms people into professional mobile and web app developers and then matches them to companies. This he believes will serve as a tech talent pipeline to produce world-class human resource in technology that African entrepreneurs will require to achieve fast growth and scalability.

Other YEIS2019 awardees includes Honorable Anastacia Ndholovu, former Zimbabwe Deputy Minister of Toursim and Hospitality and Prof. Nabhit Kapur of PeacefulMind Foundation.
