General Overseer of the Life International Church Dr. Gordon Kisseh has said businesses are failing because believers fail to apply Christian values.

He was speaking in an interview with Johnnie Hughes on TV3‘s New Day on his new book titled ‘Wisdom for Business Success’

He argued that many Christians were not using Christian methods in running businesses and were struggling and making a lot of mistakes because of that.

According to him, “many of us will leave the things we do in church at church and when we come to business we try to find other ways to do business”.

“The only way you know you don’t have wisdom is when you start making mistakes,” he pointed out.

“Christians should bring the power they had in church to bear in the business fields, and that power comes only if we have the renewal of the mind.

“Wisdom is what you know, what you do and how you do it. It is not so much of the international knowledge that you have, but the ability and the power to know what to do. And the ability and the power to know what not to do,” he stated.

When asked whether some of the Christian principles he was advocating for support a Christian to be “yoked with non-believers” as partners in business, Bishop Kisseh explained that Christians could have healthy relations with non-believes as Jesus Christ was friends with sinners.

“If you are a Christian businessman, you can have a healthy relations with unbelievers, you can do business with them but then your way of doing business should be Christian based,” he advised.

Though some school of thought believe the business profiteering and religion does not produce a perfect mix, the Bishop believes with the right application of wisdom, one can be successful.

“Success in general is not static. It is the progressive realization of predetermined well thought goals balanced by belief and stabilized by faith.”
