Mr Felix Walter Klomegah, the Koforidua Branch Manager of Donewell Life Insurance Company, has advised National Service Personnel (NSP) not to be intimidated during job interviews.
He said being intimidated could be a factor that could lower one’s chances of being successful during job interviews.
Mr Klomegah was speaking at the launch of the New Juaben South Municipal (NJSMA) National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) week celebration at the Koforidua Technical Institute (KTU).
He said fear is another limitation which keeps people in an atmosphere of self-doubt about their potential.
Mr Klomegah said during job interviews, organizational managers look out for persons who are original, confident, have good communication skills, team players and trustworthy people.
He advised NSP to abstain from writing curriculum vitae which does not reflect their true personality and abilities.
Mr Eugene Bempong, the New Juaben South Municipal Director of National Service Secretariat (NSS), advised NSPs to carefully consider their mode of appearance at interviews adding that appearance speaks a lot about the individual during initial interactions.
Mr Benmpong said there is also the need for NSPs to manage their time well and avoid any form of political affiliation when you go in for an interview.
Ms Karen Frimpong, the Human Resource Manager of Capital View Hotel, Koforidua, urged NSPs to set goals for themselves and work towards achieving them.
Mr Kenneth Anim, the Eastern Regional Coordinator for the Free Senior High School, admonished NSPs to conduct a personality check before going in for an interview and avoid getting emotional during interviews.
Mr Michael Agyei, the NASPA President for NJSM, said admonished personnel to read wide in order to obtain relevant information on the job they seek.
