The Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC-Ghana), Duncan Amoah wants government to make public the circumstances that led to the resignation of the Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), George Mensah Okley.

Mr. Mensah Okley tendered in his resignation to the President after serving a little over two years at the state entity.

Meanwhile, Mr. Edwin Provencal, a technical advisor to the Minister of Energy, is to succeed Mr George Mensah Okley as the new Managing Director of the Bulk Oil and Transport (BOST) Company Limited.

Mr. Duncan Amoah told Kasapa FM Monday, August 26 that the issues surrounding his resignation looks sketchy, hence demanding thorough investigations to be conducted into the matter.

“We are calling immediately on authority to come clear on why Mr Mensah Okley has resigned; We want to know. Some school of thought say they went to do some grading job at Buipe and the Board submitted a 4 million contract to it. However, Mr Mensah Okley renegotiated for the contract from GH¢4 million to GH¢90,000. We hear he resigned after receiving threats because of this. Again, the second other school of thought is that he is also involved in the rot festering at BOST as he formed his own haulage business and was awarding contracts to himself as seen in the PPA scandal. If that is the case he must not be left off the hook so he will go home and enjoy the spoil with his family,” he told host Kweku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 Fm.

He said BOST has undoubtedly become a “dangerous business ground” abandoning it’s core mandate, calling for it to be purged.

According to him, all the systemic and managerial failures that existed in the public entity must be investigated.
