ABB group, as part of its efforts to remain global leaders in power, heavy electrical equipment and automation technology has unveiled a new ultra-modern showroom at Electroland Ghana at Spintex, Accra.

The landmark event to make Electroland Ghana an official distributor of ABB Electricals products was held September 26, 2019, at Electroland’s premium showroom on the Spintex road.

The strategic decision by Electroland Ghana to collaborate with ABB Group, dealers in low to high voltage electronics is borne out of the need to continually maintain the quality of service in the supply of electricals, taking into consideration the sustainable use of energy.

In a reaction to the new addition, Managing Director of Electroland Ghana, Nour Siklaoui said, “Electroland is considered as home of electronics and appliances, we can’t plug our electronics without ABB…we realized that to complete our vision we need to bring electricals on board and to do this we’re talking about ABB”.

According to Mr Siklaoui, the initial approach for the collaboration was made by Electroland Ghana.

“Normally as a distributor we approach the global brands like we approached Samsung and we became Samsung distributor in 2005. We kept signing brands like Midea and Nasco. ABB is the market leader in electricals, so once we decided to go into electricals we chose the best…We’ve gone through all types of training to meet the criteria of a distributor.” He explained.

Some ABB appliances available at the Electroland showroom include; light switch ranges, moulded case circuit breakers, low voltage products and distribution enclosures.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Samuel Boakye-Appiah who graced the event, reiterated the need for Ghanaians to observe a higher level of efficient energy consumption by using appropriate and tested electrical appliances.

He said among other things that, “the demand for electricity is growing which also means that the demand for efficient and innovative and smarter electrical equipment and devices is also growing…”.

He further made an appeal to ABB Company limited to “consider setting up a plant in Ghana for the added advantage of creating employment, technology transfer and foreign exchange conservation and having a footprint also in Ghana”.

Adding that, the current vision of the Akufo-Addo led government, with respect to the 1D1F, creates a “favourable investment climate” in the country.

Electroland is the brand owner of Nasco and biggest distributors of Samsung and Midea electronics and appliances in Ghana.
