Yendi is now a haven for investment

Yendi, April 2, GNA - Chief Superintendent Anywubutoge Awuni, Yendi Divisional Police Commander on Friday indicated that Yendi was now a haven for business establishment and called on the people to sustain the peace to attract investors.

He has therefore, called on investors both within and outside the country to consider investing in the town since the place was now very calm and safe for settlement and investment.

Mr Awuni was speaking at an annual WASA organized for the Yendi divisional command at Yendi on Friday.

He said the chieftaincy problem that engulfed the town belonged to the past and assured investors that their investment would not be ruined if they invested in Yendi and its surrounding communities.

"The Eastern corridor of the country will never be on fire again and Yendi is now a safe place for all to live in", he said.

Mr Awuni appealed to indigenes of the town to find possible ways of getting investors into Yendi to boost businesses in the town.

Mr John Ferguson Dzineku Yendi Police District Officer, advised hosts on radio discussion programmes, especially in Accra to desist from spreading falsehood about Dagbon so as to maintain the current peace that was prevailing.

Alhaji Mohammed Habib Tijani, District Chief Executive for Yendi stated that the security agencies had objectivity as their prime focus and thus needed all the respect and support to discharge their duties in a professional way.

He cautioned the public against the acquisition of unlicensed guns, which was against the laws of the country and that the law would deal well with people who possessed them.

Mr. Michael Lumor Action Aid North East Programme Director commended the Yendi police for the key role it played in ensuring peaceful election and advised them not to relent in their effort in ensuring total peace in the district.

Other groups that attended the WASA were representatives of the military, the Prison Service as well as representatives of both the Adani and Abudu Gates.
