Organisers of Africa Professionals Awards on Friday 11th October, 2019 successfully held the 'Girl Child' edition of its prestigious Mentorship and Awards event at the Accra Girls Senior High School.
Themed “Empowering The Girl Child for a Brighter future", the event brought pupils of Accra Girls Senior High School, Wesley Grammar Senior High School, Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School, Labone Senior High School, Mcphet Star Academy and others to a common venue to be mentored by Renowned Sport Journalist and Lawyer Eva Okyere, Actress Akorfa Adjeani, the Africa lioness Noella Wiyaala, Portia Solomon and many notable speakers.
Sharing life experiences which led to their various professions, TV news anchor, Portia Solomon Gavor, encouraged pupils to step out confident and called for the fight against shyness which mostly hinders girls of their God given talents and potentials.
The well attended event which was held on the international day of the Girl Child, zoomed into its second phase to honor Hon. Dr Zanetor Rawlings, Nana Ama McBrown, Madam Beatrice Agyemang, Noella Wiyaala, Brigadier General Constance Ama Emefa Adjeani-Afenu and Eva Okyere for their immense contribution and impact towards the development of the Girl Child.
There were performances by winners of talented kids 2018 and 2019 DJ Switch and Nakeyaat Dramani respectively, the 2019 contestants of Tv3's Ghana's Most Beautiful and Miss Nobel Ghana. They all graced the beautiful event.
