Eyiah and Grusah lost the elections
Kweku Eyiah and Alhaji Karim Grusah were the big losers in the Executive Council Elections held at the Ghana Football Association on Thursday to elect representatives for Division One clubs on the council.
Despite being the most experienced administrators in the contest, the two were left panting for breath after they were both rejected by the delegates.
Grusah, the most experienced administrator in the contest was slapped with just 9 votes when he needed at least 19 to represent the DOL on the council.
The King Faisal president who is known for his robust honesty was expected to take all by surprise considering his relationship with delegates and ‘father for all’ status.
But the delegates ignored all those characteristics of Alhaji Grusah and voted against him.
For Kweku Eyiah, his defeat was not just shocking but was disgusting and embarrassing.
For someone who was seen as a ‘saint’ in the Anas Exposé rejecting bribe, it was a huge impetus to get him onto the ExCo.
Not only that, he was also a former Executive and Emergency Committee member of the GFA, a clear demonstration of experience at the zenith of Ghana football.
But coming second from the bottom with just seven votes could only mean that the new administration of football does not need him.
Eyiah’s defeat is considered a huge embarrassment to his personality with the number of votes he amassed.
Other candidates who failed to make it to the ExCo on the slot of Division One clubs were Otuo Acheampong Sometymer, Gideon Fosu, Justice Boison and Eric Oppong Yeboah.
Randy Abbey, Mark Addo and Samuel Anim Addo, however, emerged winners with 26, 25 and 19 votes respectively.
