It appears that calls for Justice to be served in the issues that transpired at the University of Education, Winneba regarding the "unlawful" dismissal of the Professor Mawutor Avoke as Vice-Chancellor seem far from over.

It may be recalled that a few weeks ago, former President Jerry Rawlings wrote to Mr Kan Dapaah, the Minister for National Security requesting for an investigation of the allegations and enforcement of the report of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In the latest development, Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has written to the Professor Obeng Mireku Chaired Governing Council, calling on them to consider the report of EOCO and implement the recommendations as proposed in the report.

According to the Member of Parliament, the EOCO report exonerated Professor Mawutor Avoke and his Finance Officer, Dr Theophilous Senyo Ackorlie while regrettably indicting the lead Complainant of Procurement irregularities.

"I have read in detail the report of EOCO and its appears regrettably that Rev. Fr. Prof. Afful-Broni who was the lead complainant of the Procurement irregularities and persistently urged my office to pursue same was indicted while his Boss, Prof. Mawutor Avoke and the Finance Officer, Dr Theophilous Senyo Ackorlie were completely exonerated of any wrongdoing", it stated.

The Efuttu MP further urged the Governing Council to do the needful and take appropriate action in the interest of justice and fairness.
