Family and Friends Govt: Ghanaians must wake up – Nana Aba

The country’s two major political parties- the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are taking Ghanaian voters for fools as far as cronyism and nepotism is concerned, Broadcast Journalist Nana Aba Anamaoh has said.

“I think that Ghanaians should wake up and smell the coffee. I think these two political parties are taking us for a ride, they are taking us for granted…they have done it for so long”, she observed.

According to her, under the administration of former President John Dramani Mahama, the current government came out with a list of family and friends who were offered juicy appointments which has been played back under this current dispensation.

“I think we should treat it with the contempt it deserves. We saw the President in the Volta Region tearing former President Mahama apart. I think we should take whatever they say with the pinch of salt unless they are dealing with our problems”, she advised.

Her comments were in reaction to a press conference addressed by the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi cataloguing a list of family and friends serving in the current administration.

He alleged that the family of the Executive Secretary to the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Mr Asante Bediatuo have all found space at the eating table in Akufo-Addo’s government.

Nana Asante Bediatuo who is tagged ‘self-made rich man’ in law practice, he claimed is himself directly related to the President and has allegedly created space inside government for his father, mother, sister and brother to also ‘chop’ since his cousin became president.
