Mr. Kurt Okraku, the newly elected President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Sunday joined parishioners of the Christ the King Anglican Church in Sakumono to thank God for a successful election.

It comes nearly a month after he was elected President of the association, facing stiff competition from other competitors.

Mr. Okraku, claded in white kaftan, was accompanied by his wife, mother and some family members to give thanks to God for his triumph and guidance through a peaceful election.

He said with the elections over, the association ought to bury its differences and forge ahead in unity to re-develop and “bring back the love” of the game.

He added that he was committed to his promises during the campaign and will ensure the image of the association is redeemed as well as igniting the passion of football.

Reverend Father Roland Kpaonu, Parish Priest of the Christ the King Anglican Church who congratulated him on his new feat, prayed that God surround his steps and protect him from all perils of his new role.

“Purify the heart of your handmade in the flame of your spirit and transform his toils into an offering of praise, that he may reject the proud rule of might and trust Christ alone for he is our Lord forever and ever,” Rev. Father Kpaonu stated as captured by the Ghana News Agency at the Parish.

Rev. Father Kpaonu called the GFA President to develop juvenile football and nurture the talents of young folks who exhibit traits of the game.

Mr Okraku who is the Chief Executive Officer of Dreams FC, Okraku was sworn-in on October 25 as the new president of the GFA.

The New GFA President now fills the vacant seat previously occupied by Kwesi Nyantakyi who left office in 2018 after he was implicated in the corruption exposé in Ghana football by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Mr Okraku becomes the 7th GFA President since 1992 and the 24th in the Association’s history.
