The Ejura District Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old ex-convict for stabbing a 25-year-old man to death over GHS1,200 at Ejura in the Ejura Sekyere Dumasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened on Wednesday, 1 May 2019 when the suspect, Kofi Appiah, alias Malin, engaged in fisticuffs with the yet-to-be-identified deceased over the cash and stabbed him in the process.
The suspect, after the incident, according to the Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, went into hiding until his arrest on Wednesday, 2 October 2019.
Addressing the media on Monday, 25 November 2019, Mr Ahianyo said the suspect has since been remanded into police custody.
The remains of the victim were deposited at the Mampong Government Hospital awaiting identification and autopsy.
Mr Ahianyo appealed to the general public to help the police to locate the relatives of the deceased.
