Mon, 16 May 2005 Source: Joy Online

Accra, May 16, JoyOnline -- A group calling itself ?Youth Against Corruption? has vowed to start impeachment proceedings against President Kufuor.
Ramone Osei-Akoto, who gave the president an ultimatum to resign by May 14, leads the group.
Mr. Akoto declared his intention to contest for the presidency last year but could not even file his nomination papers.
He told JOY News that his group will have the president impeached for dishonesty and acts unbecoming of a president.
Mr. Osei-Akoto told JOY News that the President lied to Ghanaians on fuel increases and the size of his government and based on these he should be impeached.
?He promised to have a small government size. But he failed. He said there would be no increases but when he got paper he increased it. He said manpower development is key but now he says increasing fuel prices is the only way out. He must be removed,? he said.
Mr. Osei Akoto says he is pushing his case through Parliament. He said he is sending a paper to Parliament for the endorsement of a third of the members, and then the process can commence.
?When a third of the MPs sign then truth has been fulfilled. We then to uphold the truth and this man has been lying so he must be impeached?, he said.
