Kyiren-Nkwanta(C/R), May 21, GNA - The Government has been commended for the swift manner it rehabilitated the bailey bridge over River Okye linking Gomoa-Brofo and Asempanyin in the Central Region.

The Bridge also provides easy access to hundreds of farmers living along the Kyiren Nkwanta-Ajumako-Mando road to transport their produce to the Kyiren Nkwanta market.

Mr Nicholas Sam, Assemblyman for Kyiren Nkwanta Electoral Area in the Gomoa-West Constituency, commended the government at a forum at Kyiren-Nkwanta on Friday to discuss development in the area.

He appealed to the Government to speed up work on the electrification project to connect the area to the National Electricity grid before the end of the year.

The Assemblyman called on the chiefs and people of the area to co-operate with the Government to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people.

Mr. Sam praised members of the Gomoa Far West Council (GFWC), a development-oriented organization based in the Gomoa-West Constituency, for donating five wooden electricity transmission poles valued at about 10 million Cedis to facilitate the project.

He urged the District Assembly to expedite action on the rehabilitation of the Kyiren-Nkwanta market and to extend power to the market.
