Asante Kotoko ace Songne Yacouba is demanding a yearly salary of US$150,000 before signing a new deal with the Ghanaian giants.
But the Porcupine Warriors have offered the Burkinabe a paltry GHc 50,000-a-year contract which was rejected by his representatives.
Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM Sports also reports there will be a final meeting between the two parties next week to decide his future.
The club's Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei will sit in that meeting to try and convince the Burkina Faso international to lower his demands.
Yacouba's contract will run out on 23 February 2020.
