Kumasi, Sept 13, GNA - The Reverend J. Kwabena Gyimah, Pastor and Founder of True Light of Christ Church of Ghana, has advised Christians to be wary of false prophets who use the Bible to enrich themselves. Rev Gyimah challenged Christians to openly speak against such practices and mount a sustained campaign to weed out the false prophets.

He was preaching to a large congregation at a church service at Abrepo in Kumasi on Sunday. "Christians should be agents for the promotion of freedom, peace, compassion and reconciliation", he said, and stressed the need for Ghanaians to respect people in authority. Rev Gyimah pointed out that the nation could only develop and progress if Ghanaians accorded their leaders with respect and dignity.

He said the Church, as the conscience of the people, must be seen to exhibit Christian virtues and be objective, analytical and faithful to the cause of the nation. "The church must, therefore, stand up and guide the people, who find themselves at the cross-roads, and teach them to love their neighbours".

He said, since mankind was saved from sin through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ Ghanaians need to be law-abiding and be each other's keeper. Rev Gyimah later led the congregation in prayer for the prosperity and progress of the nation.
