UCC introduces BA In Chinese programme as part of internationalization agenda

The University of Cape Coast, as part of efforts to broaden its knowledge base, has introduced the Bachelor of Arts programme in Chinese language and culture with its first batch of students admitted this year.

This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, at the 3rd session of the 52nd congregation. According to the Vice-Chancellor, the Confucius Institute-UCC has already secured funding for the establishment of three Confucius classrooms to ensure the programme is run smoothly. At the congregation, a total of two thousand, four hundred and fifty-nine students from the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences and the College of Humanities and Legal Studies graduated.Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah explained that the University of Cape Coast has continued to set the pace for others to follow and thus encouraged the graduating class to tap into the rich training the university has given them to impact society. Twenty-six (26) year old Dzigbordi Lorlormavor Dzakpa from the faculty of law was the overall best graduating student for the College of Humanities and Legal Studies. She obtained a CGPA of 3.968 to become the valedictorian.

The congregation ceremony continues on Friday with the 4th and 5th sessions dedicated for students of the College of Education Studies and the School of Graduate Studies.
