Miss BA is Controversially Crowned Miss Ghana

Winner: Mariam Surie Bugri (Miss BA) 19 year old student won Miss Ghana. Her prices included a two bedroom self-contained house, a Daihatsu Gran Move Car, ticket to Miss World, and 3 million cedis cash.
Runner-up 1: Felicia Ocloo (Greater Accra) who came second took home a 20-inch colour television and video deck, living room furniture, ticket to London and ?2.5 million cash. She was also judged the most eloquent contestant
Runner up 2: Eruba Afua Mokyea (Central region). Third-placed winner received a double door fridge, dinning room furniture, gas cooker and 2 million cedis
The remaining 17 contestants each took home 2 million cedis.
Some of the audience and contestants jeered and booed as the winner was announced. Some contestants openely accused the judges of accepting bribes
