Laboratory Scientists congratulate GAMLS

The Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) has sent its earnest congratulatory message to the Regional Body of the West Africa Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS).

The message is to endorse the induction of the 200 medical Laboratory Scientists from the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science ( WAPCMLS) which saw Ghana’s Chapter of WAPCMLS and 88 of 216 Consultants from seven West African Countries.

The induction and investiture ceremony of the 200 medical Laboratory Scientists was held on 22nd of February 2020 at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos in Nigeria.

According to a press release by the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists, the foundation fellows spread across different specialties and sub-disciplines of the medical laboratory science profession are grouped in Faculties. Its states that each faculty will articulate the curriculum for training, examining and certifying the required critical mass of specialists in their sub-discipline within the West African region and Cameroon.

In attendance was the Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Alexander Abban, Dr Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Director of Institutional Care Unit of the Ghana Health Service and Mr Lawrence Lawson, who represented Director of Human Resource, MoH.

The function was also graced by Professor Nafiu Amidu, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana, was elected as the First President of the WAPCMLS.

GAMLS CONGRATULATES THE WAPCMLS – GHANA CHAPTER, THE REGIONAL BODY OF WAPCMLS AND 88 CONSULTANTS AS FOUNDATION FELLOWS

Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) congratulates the Regional Body of the West Africa Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS), the Ghana Chapter of WAPCMLS and the 88 of the 216 Consultants from seven West African Countries who were inducted as Foundation Fellows of WAPCMLS on the 22nd of February 2020 at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos in Nigeria.

The Foundation Fellows spread across the different specialties and subdisciplines of medical laboratory science profession are grouped in Faculties. Each Faculty will articulate the curriculum for training, examining and certifying the required critical mass of specialists in their subdiscipline within the West African region and Cameroon.
