West Hills Mall, Ghana’s leading family shopping and recreational centre, announced today it is on top of pre-cautionary and preventive measures for the health and safety of its patrons in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Mr. Bernard Denkyi, Operations Manager told newsmen the mall proactively began public education as soon as it was announced that Ghana had two confirmed cases of COVID 19 infection.

“We have, since then, thoroughly upgraded our preventive and containment measures to guarantee the good health and safety of our cherished customers, our patrons and our in-house staff while they are within our facility,” Mr. Denkyi said.

Since last Friday, all visitors to West Hills Mall are first greeted at the two main entrances by installed touch-free sanitizer stands which, according to the operations manager, dispenses several rounds of high-grade anti-bacterial hand gels for visitors. The use of the sanitizers are supervised and whenever necessary, enforced by mall security.

“We have also posted A3 bills with basic anti-spread information on COVID 19 in all our stores and our washrooms, and we have instituted a new sanitary regime in which every solid surface and the floors in our washrooms are disinfected on an hourly basis,” Mr. Denkyi disclosed when he and management conducted a crew from UTV around the facility.

The mall seems to have taken public education on COVID 19 to an entirely new level as it has dedicated its giant (two metre square) LED Video Wall to the daily dissemination of valuable information on the ‘Do’s and Dont's’ in the quest to prevent COVID 19 infection.

According to the Operations Manager, all tenants in the mall have received basic education on COVID 19 and the various stores are abiding by respective sanitary protocols which include the wearing of nose or face masks and the provision of hand administered sanitizers for both staff and customers.

“We are very satisfied with the level of awareness we have created in-house and the cooperation of our customers and tenants has been commendable so far. We would however entreat all shoppers and visitors to abide by the basic precautionary measures we have put in place to ensure that they stay healthy and safe while they spend time at West Hills Mall,” Mr. Denkyi said.
