Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton has lavished praise on Dutch born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong for his outstanding performance for Celtic in the Old firm derby.
The 20-year old right back had the better of Rangers winger Ryan Kent in the most anticipated match ups before the game.
Frimpong has been a sensation since joining the Hoops from English Champions Manchester City last summer.
"I remember the Old Firm game, the big talking point was Ryan Kent against Frimpong – everything he’d done before that was amazing going forward and attacking,' Hutton told the Football Insider.
“I was thinking: ‘Here’s your first test defensively.’ He (Kent) didn’t get by him once.
“That’s a massive tick in the box.
"He’s answered a lot of questions, people probably said well can he defend – he looks quite slight?
"He’s stood up to the challenge and he’s one I’m definitely looking forward to next season."
Frimpong has made 19 appearances in all competition netting two times for the club.
