MOYS commiserates with families of late Opoku Afriyie and Kwasi Owusu

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has sent a heartfelt message of condolence to the families of late Ghana legends Opoku Afriyie and Kwasi Owusu.

Afriyie, who featured for former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak died on Sunday, March 29 2020 after a short illness.

He was a member of Ghana’s 1978 and 1982 Africa Cup of Nations winning squads.

On the other hand, Owusu nicknamed ‘Power House’ died at the age of 72 after battling ailment in Sunyani.

He was Black Stars skipper for several years during the 1960s and 70s era and the country's leading international goal scorer with 36 goals until Asamoah Gyan recently took over the mantle.
