Veteran Sports Broadcaster Mohammed Amin Lamptey has advised Asante Kotoko Executive Director, Dr Kwame Kyei to resign from the club.
Amin Lamptey stated that following Manhyia's decision to write a letter on behalf of the club without the input of Dr Kwame Kyei to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) shows there is mistrust and he must resign.
There have been calls for the Executive Director to be relieved off his duty due to recent happenings in the club.
Kotoko failed to meet the deadline to constitute a Board as directed by the Ghana FA Club Licensing Board.
The team is also struggling to constitute the Executive Board and according to sources members approached are not willing to work with Dr Kwame Kyei.
Manhyia Palace had written a letter to the Club Licensing Board on behalf of Asante Kotoko requesting for more time to constitute the Executive Board after the deadline.
According to Mohammed Amin Lamptey, Manhyia should have consulted Dr Kwame Kyei who heads the management team before writing the letter to the GFA.
“This shows that they don’t trust him and he should resign from his position. It clearly shows there is mistrust and something is wrong with leadership”.
He added that the Ghana FA should not act on the letter sent by Manhyia since the FA deals with the management of the club.
“It is not professional for the GFA to act on any letter from Manhyia”.
