Stephen Appiah has said that Black Stars during his time as the captain had a good public image because they were able to manage issues in camp in a proper manner.
According to the first Ghanaian captain to qualify the team to the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006, there was absolute love and bond among players when he was the leader.
Issues of indiscipline by Black Stars players have constantly been reported in the media during major tournaments with issues of winning bonuses and player indiscipline always the dominant subjects.
In an interview with GTV Sports Plus, he said: "See, during my time with the Black Stars, we had big players in the team. “We had our own issues but it was managed properly and it did not affect us in any way. I think that is what is missing now.”
"There were absolute love and bond among the players and that is why some of us will be remembered forever," he added.
