AGC's distress was due to mismanagement, counsel tells court

Accra (Greater Accra- Counsel for five shareholders who are seeking a court's order to unseat the Ashanti Goldfields Company's board of directors, today submitted at an Accra High Court that the company's distress was due to mismanagement. Mr. Tony Lithur alleged that the board of the company failed to take "prudent policies" which would have prevented the crisis. The five shareholders who hold 4.2 percent share in the AGC are, Adryx Mining company, Stigray Limited, Brown Brothers and Jean Pierre Delker.
